Immediate Resignation Due to Health Concerns

German tactician Ralf Rangnick has abruptly stepped down as the head coach of FC Schalke 04. The club announced the departure on Friday, citing health reasons for Rangnick's immediate resignation.
"After careful consideration, I have come to the conclusion that I need a break," Rangnick said in a statement. "I have been feeling unwell for some time now, and I am no longer able to perform my duties as head coach of Schalke 04 to the best of my ability."
Rangnick's departure comes just three days after he announced his intention to leave Schalke at the end of the season. The 63-year-old has been in charge of Schalke since 2020, and he has guided the club to the UEFA Champions League knockout stages and the German Cup semi-finals during his tenure.
Schalke sporting director Rouven Schröder expressed his understanding of Rangnick's decision.
"We respect Ralf Rangnick's decision to step down as head coach," Schröder said. "We would like to thank him for his hard work and commitment to Schalke 04. We wish him all the best for the future."
Schalke are currently 13th in the Bundesliga standings, and they will resume their campaign on Saturday against Hertha Berlin.
