The Animals Scientific Procedures Act 1986 has been updated with all known changes in force on or before May 11, 2024. The revised Act includes new provisions for the protection of animals used in experimental or other scientific procedures. It also regulates the use of animals in studies related to breeding genetically modified animals, medical advancements, and veterinary practices.
Previously, the Act permitted studies to be conducted using animals under specific conditions. The latest update aims to enhance animal welfare and ensure responsible scientific practices.
