Toyota Suffers Setback in Warm-up, Mick Schumacher Competes
The 2024 edition of the iconic 24 Hours of Le Mans concluded with a memorable Ferrari triumph at the Circuit de la Sarthe. However, the race was marked by several noteworthy incidents, including a Toyota accident during the warm-up and a penalty against the trio of Sebastian Bourdais, Alex Lynn, and Adam Cooper for exceeding the speed limit during a Full Course Yellow (FCY) phase at night.
Race Highlights
Despite the challenges, Ferrari emerged as the overall winner, securing its first Le Mans victory since 1965 with the 488 GTE Evo. The victorious trio consisted of James Calado, Alessandro Pier Guidi, and Antonio Fuoco.
The race also featured the participation of Formula 1 star Mick Schumacher, who partnered with Esteban Guerrieri and Nick Cassidy in the #94 Peugeot 9X8 Hypercar. Schumacher and his team ultimately finished 20th overall, marking a respectable result in his Le Mans debut.
